Madison Springfield has worked extensively throughout the country to provide a range of services including survey research, stability assessments, and due diligence to multinational clients from the insurance, manufacturing, energy and security sectors.
Asset Recovery Assessment
Insurance and Manufacturing
A manufacturing company had filed a insurance claim for an act of employee sabotage to its manufacturing lines. Due to the conflict in Yemen, underwriters lacked the ability to safely assess the veracity of the insured's claim. Before determining whether the claim should be paid, the client sought to engage a local firm to perform a site visit.
A team of local Madison Springfield consultants visited the site to assess and photograph the damage. In addition, company employees were interviewed about the incident. Lastly, social media data and commercially available satellite imagery were synthesized with the information collected during the site visits and interviews to develop a detailed understanding of the events surrounding the incident.
Previously, underwriters would have had no choice but to pay similar claims because they lacked qualified recovery agents that could visit insured sites in conflict zones. The insights provided by the Madison Springfield team enabled the client to assess all of the relevant facts before determining whether the claim was valid.
Multi-Country Stability Assessment
Aden, Ataq, Al Mukallah, Sa'dah, Sana'a and Ta'izz, Yemen
The client sought to conduct a baseline assessment of stability conditions in multiple countries across the Middle East. The assessment required the collection and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data in parallel from 23 locations on a range of economic, political, development and social factors.
A team of Madison Springfield senior analysts with expertise in the region developed a framework of indicators that would be collected during the primary research phase. Madison Springfield then assembled a multinational team of more than 80 local researchers from each of the locations to be surveyed to perform the data collection. Once the data was collected, Madison Springfield analysts presented the client with a framework that would be collected against at quarterly intervals to stability trends in the region.
Previous client attempts are developing a cross-national assessment framework had met with limited success due to the client's inability to specify the indicators most relevant for tracking stability. The framework developed by experienced Madison Springfield analysts and populations by indigenous research teams provided the client with the visibility it needed in order to forecast development trends for the region.
A multinational energy company had filed a forced abandonment claim with an insurance underwriter as a result of the conflict in Yemen. Underwriters required further evidence to confirm that the assets were unrecoverable as a result of the conflict and that the claim should be paid.
Madison Springfield dispatched a team of consultants to the site to interview employees and local residents and ascertain the disposition of the company's assets. The Madison Springfield team performed an inventory of the assets at the work site that was then compared to the master list provided by the insurance company.
Madison Springfield consultants were able to locate the assets and provide a detailed accounting of the events that occurred before and after the company's employees were forced to vacate the site. Equipped with this knowledge, underwriters were able to make an informed decision about the validity of the claim.
