Madison Springfield has worked extensively to provide a range of services including market research, survey research, supply chain analysis and optimization and due diligence to multinational clients from the consumer products, information technology, pharmaceutical, energy and financial services sectors.
Supply Chain Optimization
Charlotte, United States
A global consumer products company was seeking to optimize its global supply chain. Perceived inefficiencies were impacting delivery lead times, working capital obligations, and quality control. To eliminate these issues, the company first needs to assess those key nodes in its global supply chain.
At multiple manufacturing sites located in Europe and the US, Madison Springfield consultants performed a baseline supply chain assessment of the client processes in the areas of manufacturing, distribution, inventory management and sourcing. The team then benchmarked the client's performance in each of these areas against industry best practice to identify gaps. These gaps were then analyzed and courses of action were developed to eliminate these gaps.
The elimination of the identified performance gaps resulted in significant performance improvements across the supply chain and capital savings through reductions in work-in-process inventory. These enhancements enabled the client to leverage its supply chain as a competitive advantage.
International Market Entry
Los Angeles, United States
An Asian manufacturer of consumer electronics was experiencing significant reductions in manufacturing demand at its plants in Asia. In an attempt to diversify its customer base, the client sought to position itself as a qualified supplier to new potential clients in the US.
A team of Madison Springfield consultants was assembled to first assess the capabilities of the Asian supplier, determine existing market demand that the client support with little to no modification to its existing manufacturing capabilities, and identify key strategic customers that could be approached. Madison Springfield consultants then facilitated the introduction of the Asian supplier to multiple US firms that currently outsourced much of their manufacturing to Asian vendors.
Equipped with the essential industry-specific knowledge of manufacturing and outsourcing practices if US information technology firms, the client was able to secure its first contract with a Fortune 100 technology firm. Once the supplier was established as a qualified vendor for US technology firms, it was able to win additional contracts from other US companies.
Risk Management Program
Houston, United States
Increasingly concerned with the threats faced by its employees when traveling abroad, a multinational energy company sought to institute a risk management program for its employees. As part of that program, the client needed a detailed overview of the the security threats it faced in each of the countries in which it operated.
For those countries where the client's employees traveled, Madison Springfield consultants developed a detailed threat matrix for more than 20 countries that identified the nature and extent of the threat to the company's employees and its operations. In addition, the threat matrix identified precise courses of action that employees should take when traveling abroad to mitigate the risks posed by the various criminal, terrorist, and related security threats. The threat matrix was updated monthly in order to provide the client current analysis of the threats faced by its employees.
After the successful development and deployment of the threat matrix, the client has to experience a security-related incident involving an employee traveling abroad. The persistent monitoring has enabled the client to maintain real-time situational awareness of the security situation in each country and more importantly, knowledge of the threats they could face and the best courses of action to mitigate those threats has enabled the company's employees to confidently and safe conduct business abroad.
