Insurance and Manufacturing
Donetsk and Luhansk, Ukraine
During the conflict in Ukraine, a number of manufacturing facilities were abandoned in response to the encroaching hostilities. These facilities were covered by political risk policies and underwriters needed to know the status of these facilities before proceeding with the claims process. Little if any credible information was available online regarding the disposition of these facilities.
A team of Madison Springfield consultants performed a series of site visits to ascertain the status of each facility. In addition to the site visits, local residents were interviewed regarding the the conflict in their area. Lastly, online sources and geospatial imagery were consulted to corroborate locally-derived information and to fill remaining knowledge gaps.
Due to its familiarity working in Ukraine, the Madison Springfield team was able to deliver detailed assessments of the status of the facilities in question. This information enabled the client to make informed decisions regarding the political risk claims that had been filed.
